Shopping may not be on the top of your to do list while you are in the area, but sometimes you might find you’re in need of a particular item, want to stock up on groceries, or you just wanna browse.  When that happens, you need to know where to go, right?  These are the shopping places we frequent and often recommend to our guests.

Golf Shop – You can usually find what you’re looking for in the pro shop of the course you’re playing, but we always recommend Robert’s Golf Shop for your golfing needs.  Robert has been outfitting the Sandhills with golf gear since 1980.  If you need to rent a set of clubs, they will even try to match it as closely to your own as possible.

Unique Gifts – Need to grab a gift to take back with you?  There are quite a few shops where you can find one-of-a-kind specialties.  Swank in downtown Southern Pines is a coffee shop featuring local handmade goods and tchotchkes.  Southern Pines Brewery is also a great place to pick up local beers as gifts.  We highly recommend giving beer as a gift.

Apparel – If you’re looking for golf apparel, Robert’s Golf Shop or the nearest pro shop has you covered.  If you’re in need of some fancier men’s duds, Pinehurst has Jos.A.Bank and Gentlemen’s Corner.  Ladies clothing has quite a few more options, and we recommend:  The Village Fox in Village of Pinehurst and Denker’s in Southern Pines.

Groceries – We have two favorites, the Lowes Foods and the Harris Teeter in Pinehurst.  At both you can grab a beer or glass of wine (or a cup of coffee) while you do your shopping.  The primary difference is Lowes Foods is smaller and has more of a small-town feel.  The Pinehurst Harris Teeter has got multiple hot food bars, a large restaurant-like area and a large bar with TVs for eating in.  It also has a Starbucks inside, while the Lowes Foods has its own coffee bar.  So, if you’re wanting to get in and out, Lowes Foods.  For a full grocery experience, (yes, you can have a full experience grocery shopping) we recommend the Harris Teeter.

Just Browsing – If you’ve just got the urge to do some window shopping, we recommend downtown Southern Pines and the Village of Pinehurst.  Both have unique boutiques, shops, and places to eat.

If you’re in need of something else and can find the best place to get it, let us know and we will help you out!
